We recognized that o1 Labs could use these planning sessions to not only align on business-critical decisions, but change how ideas and power are shared – giving employees across the organization a meaningful role to play in the planning process.

To give employees across the organization a meaningful role to play in the planning process, UME trained team members (not just leaders) to confidently facilitate the organization-wide strategy session.

Over just a couple days, we successfully co-created o1 Labs’ 12-month strategic roadmap.

We codified the entire process into a set of tools and playbooks that o1Labs continues to use for strategic planning today.

In addition to improving the strategic quality of OKRs, employees reported more excitement and buy-in related to the new process: “I made a strategic contribution X10, compared to other jobs where I felt like a cog.”
